Purina Mills has been a long-time believer in the value of education
and research. Through its Fellowship Program, the company shows support by
donating monies to graduate students. Since 1949, Purina Mills has provided
academic fellowships based on academic qualifications and scientific merit to
students in graduate research programs. Currently, the company honors three
students in the areas of dairy, animal, and poultry sciences.
Purina Fellowships are regarded very highly within the
animal industries, and many of those selected as recipients have contributed
greatly to research. Recipients are selected by an independent committee of
professors and scientists appointed by the American Dairy Science Association,
American Society of Animal Science, and Poultry Science Association. Purina
Research Fellowship awards provide funding for students’ educational and living
expenses while they study and conduct research for their graduate degrees.
