Meyer Receives Hubbard Feeds, Inc Graduate Award for Swine

Terry A. Meyer was honored with the Hubbard Feeds, Inc. Graduate Award for Swine at the American Society of Animal Science Awards banquet in Indianapolis on Friday, July 27.  This award recognizes students demonstrating outstanding potential in the research of nutritional sciences of food animals, specifically in the areas of beef, dairy, swine and poultry production.

Meyer received his B.S. in Agricultural Science from Northwest Missouri State University, after which he obtained a M.S. from South Dakota State University concentrating on the effects of salt and whey on the performance of weanling pigs.  After working a year in the swine feed industry, Meyer is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Kentucky under the direction of Dr. Merlin Lindemann.  His studies are on fish oil and it’s unique n-3 fatty acid properties in relation to the potential fatty acid needs of the weanling pig.

This award is sponsored by Hubbard Feeds, Inc.
