William G. Moody

Dr. William G. Moody has spent 36 years in teaching and research at the University of Kentucky. With the exception of three years, he has taught two courses each semester since 1963. His courses are well received by the students as indicated by his consistently high performance evaluation scores. It is conservatively estimated that Moody has taught or directed well over 2,500 students in seven courses. Professor Moody has also served as advisor or committee member of 55 graduate students who have completed advanced degrees. In addition to his classroom teaching and academic advising, Moody has conducted an active meats research program and has served as a meat judging coach and advisor to the following organizations: Block and Bridle Club, Food Science Club, Alpha Zeta, Mortar Board, and FarmHouse Fraternity. Professor Moody has received the University of Kentucky Alumni Great Teacher Award, the Gamma Sigma Delta Master Teacher Award, the Master Builder of Men Award from the International FarmHouse Fraternity, and the American Meat Science Association's Distinguished Teaching Award. In May of 1999, Dr. Moody was a recipient of the University of Kentucky Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Teaching for Tenured Faculty.
