On behalf of the Board of Directors, and as a member of the joint program committee, I want to invite and welcome you to the joint ASAS- AAPA conference. Located on the coast, 400 km south of Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata is one of the major fishing ports and the biggest seaside beach resort in Argentina. With a population of 614,350 it is the 7th largest city in Argentina.
This scientific meeting will feature the best animal scientists in the Western hemisphere, and similar to our joint meeting in China in November 2009, sessions will begin with at least two invited speakers from both North and South America. All sessions will provide simultaneous translation in English and Spanish. Both executive staffs of ASAS and AAPA have been working hard on meeting details, and poster sessions as well as special events are being planned.
One of our goals from the ASAS strategic plan is to increase international membership and services. We believe this meeting will allow good interaction between scientists from a number of counties.
