The ADSA-ASAS Joint Annual Meeting, the Sectional Meetings, and Award Nominations are right around the corner. Therefore, we have put together a special edition of Taking Stock that lists important deadlines for these events.

Important notes about the 2008 Joint Annual Meeting:


  • It is the ASAS Centennial.

  • ASAS is sponsoring a new Cell Symposium, and the hot topic this year is micro RNA.

  • ADSA and ASAS are working with ESS (Equine Science Society) to offer a stronger horse program this year.

  • We are also collaborating with AMSA (American Meat Science Association) to offer a stronger program in meat science at this year's meeting.

  • Two new awards will be presented by ASAS at the Joint Annual Meeting: 1) the Retiree Service Award and 2) the Equine Science Award (sponsored by the Equine Science Society.
