The Wilson Pond Appreciation Club awarded the first two Wilson Pond International Travel Awards. These awards were given to Ashley DeDecker, a PhD student at the University of Illinois, and Allison Meyer, a PhD student at North Dakota State University.

At the 2009 Joint Annual Meeting, the ASAS Foundation awarded Early Career Awards to Dr. Galen Erickson and Dr. Cliff Lamb and the Retiree Service Award to Dr. Virgil Hayes.
At the 2009 Joint Annual Meeting, the ASAS Foundation, through The Past Presidents’ Fund, provided $3500.00 in support of the entertainment at the opening reception.
November 2009:

The Next Century Fund and the ASAS Foundation funded the travel of 5 invited speakers to represent ASAS at the Inaugural 2009 ASAS-CAAV Pacific Rim Conference in Beijing, China.
