Membership Types

Membership is open to individuals, organizations, or firms interested in research and application, instruction, or extension in animal science or associated with the production, processing, marketing, or distribution of livestock and livestock products.

Professional Membership: Available to any person who has research, educational, commercial or administrative responsibilities or interests in the broad disciplines within animal science.

2 Year Professional Membership: The advantage to a 2 Year membership is that the member doesn't have to remember to renew and the member provides the society with a more consistent revenue stream by paying dues for two years instead of one!

3 Year Professional Membership: The advantage to a 3 Year membership is that the member doesn't have to remember to renew and the member provides the society with a more consistent revenue stream by paying dues for three years instead of one!

Postdoctoral Fellow: Available to postdoctoral students. Certification of eligibility is required.

Student Affiliate Membership: Available to any regularly enrolled college student, either undergraduate or graduate, who is certified by a Professional Member/Advisor and does not hold a full-time job. Student Affiliate Members are non-voting members.

Individual Sustaining Membership: This membership option supports both the society and the Foundation. More about Individual Sustaining Membership.

Corporate Sustaining Membership: This membership option supports both the society and the Foundation. More about Corporate Sustaining Membership.

Sectional Affiliation

In addition to membership in the international organization, members who reside in North America, Central America or South America automatically become members of one of the four geographic sections: Midwestern, Northeastern, Southern or Western. A portion of the annual dues is automatically prorated to the section in which the member resides. A member has the option of adding or changing section affiliation. Each section holds a meeting annually.
