ASAS Membership
Membership is open to individuals, organizations, or firms interested in research and application, instruction, or extension in animal science or associated with the production, processing, marketing, or distribution of livestock and livestock products.
Membership is based on the calendar year (January 1 through December 31)

Professional Membership
Available to any person who has research, educational, commercial or administrative responsibilities or interests in the broad disciplines within animal science. $135 for one year

2 Year and 3 Year Professional Membership
The advantage to a 2 or 3 Year membership is that the member doesn't have to remember to renew and the member provides the society with a more consistent revenue stream by paying dues for two or three years instead of one!

Postdoctoral Fellow
Available to postdoctoral students. Certification of eligibility is required. $65 for one year.

Undergraduate and Graduate Student Membership
Available to any regularly enrolled college student, who is certified by a Professional Member/Advisor. Student Members are non-voting members.
Undergraduate Student Membership- one year-free
Graduate Student Membership-one year- $20
Masters Student Membership- Available to graduate students in a Master's program. This is the same as a Graduate Student Membership; however, it allows you to pay once for the duration of your degree program and affords you a discount if your Master's Program extends beyond 2 years- $40 covers the duration of your Master's Program
PhD Student Membership- Available to graduate students in a Doctoral program. This is the same as a Graduate Student Membership; however, it allows you to pay once for the duration of your degree program and affords you a discount if your Doctoral Program extends beyond 3 years- $60 covers the duration of your Doctoral Program

This transitional membership is designed to transition you from a student member to a professional member without the initial increase in cost. Transitional Membership is $55 for one year.

Sectional Affiliation
In addition to membership in the international organization, members who reside in North America, Central America or South America automatically become members of one of the four geographic sections: Midwestern, Northeastern, Southern or Western. A portion of the annual dues is automatically prorated to the section in which the member resides. A member has the option of adding or changing section affiliation. Each section holds a meeting annually.
