Written intention for nomination should be received by January 22, 1999 and complete nomination package must be received by March 1, 1999.

1. Purpose: Recognition of outstanding contributions to the broad field of Animal/Dairy Science by a young scientist.

2. Eligibility: Must be a member of the Northeast Regional ADSA or ASAS and currently active in the field of Animal/Dairy Science. The recipient shall have 10 years or less experience beyond the Ph.D. (or equivalent) degree by December 1, or of the year awarded. Anyone that has received similar awards at the national level are ineligible for the regional award.

3. Basis for selection: Selection from among the eligible candidates will be based upon total contribution in all areas related to animal production and/or their products, including the following: teaching, research, extension, responsibilities with the national and regional ADSA/ASAS activities, and with the livestock and dairy organizations, and effectiveness of the candidate's efforts.

4. The awardee will receive an inscribed plaque which will be presented at the 1999 Northeast ADSA/ASAS meeting in Princess Anne, Maryland.

5. Five (5) copies of the nomination form are required. The material submitted should include:

a. Curriculum Vitae of the nominee, including a list of publications.

b. Summary statement of no more than four (4) pages, establishing the nature and importance of the nominee's contribution to the broad field of Animal/Dairy Science in the Northeast.

c. A citation of no more than 500 words regarding the nominee prepared by the nominator suitable for journal publication.

d. Up to four (4) letters of support for the nomination.
