The 2009 ASAS-CAAV Asia Pacific Rim Conference will be held at the Friendship Hotel in Beijing China, November 8-10, 2009. This conference will provide an international forum of scientific exchange among animal scientists throughout the world. This meeting will also allow animal scientists the opportunity to take advantage of these "most important products" that ASAS provides, such as the benefits of an international professional organization, while providing both Chinese and US animal scientists with a novel educational opportunity. The conference will take place over a 3-day period. Within the 3 days, there will be 10 symposia with invited speakers, as well as strand symposia (number determined by abstract submission) and accompanying poster sessions (number determined by abstract submission). In addition, there will be adequate time for networking at multiple meal and social functions.

Overall, the meeting is structured to appeal to most general animal scientists, focusing on current topics of interest in both China and the US. The official language of the meeting will be English; however, slides for invited presentations will be projected on two screens: one in English and the other in Chinese. In addition, abstracts for all presentations will be published in the proceedings in both English and Chinese.
