The 2000 Western Section of the American Society of Animal Science meeting will be held in University of California, Davis, June 20-23. Please note the following dates with respect to this meeting:

March 2, 2000 Abstracts should be prepared and submitted as instructed by the enclosed material and postmarked no later than this date. Please ensure that abstracts conform to the enclosed Quality Standards for Abstracts.

March 2, 2000 Nominations for the Western Section Distinguished Service, Young Scientist, Distinguished Teacher and Extension Awards should be forwarded to Dr. Noelle E. Cockett, Utah State University, Department of Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences, 4700 Old Main Hill, Logan, UT 84322-4700.

March 15, 2000 Manuscripts for the Proceedings of the Western Section of the American Society of Animal Science (Volume 51) should be submitted to the Secretary-Treasurer, Western Section at the address above, postmarked no later than this date. A copy of the manuscript should also be submitted as either a Word Perfect or Word file on a 3.5 inch disk along with the manuscript hard copy. Instructions for preparation of the manuscript and the invoice for page charges are also enclosed. Manuscripts are suggested to be four pages in length and are to be photo-ready. Please do not staple. Please make us aware of your presentation needs. Please indicate on the electronic abstract submission form if you will be submitting manuscript.

The enclosed publication approval form or an equivalent form from your institution should be submitted with the photo-ready manuscript. In addition, please include a publication fee of $ 20.00/page. Checks should be made payable to Western Section, American Society of Animal Science, c/o Dr. Jim Oltjen the address shown above.

Please encourage your students to participate in the Graduate Student Competition and membership in the American Society of Animal Science.
