Extension Award

Past recipients

Objective:

To recognize outstanding achievements in animal science extension programs at western region institutions

Award:

A specific monetary award and an appropriate plaque

Eligibility for Nomination:

1.     Nominees must have made outstanding contributions in animal science extension in areas related directly to livestock production, product utilization or other extension activities such as adult education, 4-H clubs, cooperative livestock associations, etc.

2.     A nominee must be a member of the Western Section of the American Society of Animal Science, must be actively engaged in extension (at least a 25% appointment) and may not be an officer of the Western Section ASAS.


Nominations may be submitted by active members in good standing of the American Society of Animal Science.

Material from Nominator:

1.     Biography of the nominee not to exceed 2670 characters and spaces

2.     List of pertinent publications

3.     List of the nominee's projects and programs and an explanation of how these activities have influenced the livestock industry and the welfare of participating individuals not to exceed 8000 characters and spaces

4.     Clear demonstration in nominating and seconding letters (minimum 3, maximum 5) that the nominee has developed the expertise and leadership abilities to influence others to adopt improved practices for the enhancement of animal agriculture

5.     One copy of a citation of approximately 500 words suitable for publication in the Journal of Animal Science
