Dr. Glenn C. Duff (email@example.com)
I would like to remind members of the deadlines for the 2011 WSASAS meeting, which will be held at Miles Community College in Miles City, Montana, June 21–23, 2011.
We encourage members to arrange for housing as soon as possible. Limited housing space is available and other events are planned in Miles City at the same time, so it is advisable to reserve your rooms now. Hotels with rooms blocked for WSASAS include the Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn, Econo Lodge, Guest House, Super 8, and Best Western Warbonnet. Camping is available at Meadows RV, Big Sky, and KOA.
March 2, 2011: Deadline for award nominations and abstract submission. Instructions can be found on the WSASAS 2011 meeting website (http://www.asas.org/westernsection/2011.asp).
Note: All individuals submitting an abstract are required to submit a manuscript for the WSASAS Proceedings.
March 30, 2011: Manuscripts for the WSASAS Proceedings (Volume 62) should be submitted by this date. Instructions for preparation and submission of manuscripts can be found on the WSASAS 2011 meeting home page (http://www.asas.org/westernsection/2011.asp). Manuscripts are not to exceed four pages in length (graphs and tables may go beyond the 4-page limit). Page charges ($25.00 per page) must be submitted at the same time as the manuscript (no later than March 30, 2011). Complete details can be found on the Invoice for Page Charges. The invoice and publication approval form can be found on the above listed web site and must be sent by mail, fax, or e-mail to Dr. Glenn Duff by March 30, 2011. Checks should be made payable to Western Section, American Society of Animal Science, c/o Dr. Glenn Duff at the address below:

The Applied Animal Science Award, sponsored by industry, is a regular award of the Western Section. The awards are selected from proceedings papers submitted for publication in the WSASAS proceedings based on the criteria of (1) applicability to current production systems, (2) potential for economic return on investment, and (3) new and innovative approaches to existing production problems. The papers will be evaluated and selected by a committee of industry and academic animal agriculture consultants appointed and chaired by the WSASAS Industry Representative.
Persons interested in having their proceedings paper reviewed by the committee for this award must e-mail an electronic file of the proceedings paper by March 30, 2011 (in addition to the electronic paper submitted on the web) directly to Dr. Connie K. Larson, Zinpro Corporation, 10400 Viking Dr., Ste 240, Eden Prairie, MN 55344-7265; phone: (952) 983-3848; fax: (952) 983-4077; e-mail: email@example.com.
