Photo of the week: Bull merry-go-round

bull-exercise

Photo submitter Harold Hafs writes, “Bulls on exerciser at New York Artificial Breeders Cooperative, circa 1952. People thought bulls required at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. Subsequently, studies showed no advantage of this kind of forced exercise for bulls. This merry-go-round moved slowly and was equipped with a release to stop it in the event a bull became entangled.”
