Photo of the week: Folic acid deficiency

Dr. Todd See describes the photo: “Folic Acid deficient chick and control. The deficient chick is severely stunted and anemic, the control was fed the same ration plus 100 micrograms of folic acid per 100 grams of diet.”

Folic acid is not just important for poultry. The vitamin aids cell growth and division in humans. It is especially important for pregnant women to get enough folic acid.
