Photo of the week: Cattle chutes

Chutes are used to restrain cattle during times it is essential for the animal to be still, such as when receiving vaccinations.

Temple Grandin writes, “Solid sides added on this chute improved cattle movement. The solid sides reduce the flight distance between a person and the cattle, and cattle remain calmer with this visual barrier.”
