Western honors its students


Fri., June 26, 2015 – Several graduate and undergraduate student competitions took place this week during the Western Section Annual Meeting in Ruidoso, N.M. The Graduate Student Paper Competition and Undergraduate Poster Competition winners were honored during last night’s Awards Banquet. The winning Academic Quadrathlon teams also were recognized during the Awards Banquet.

Results of AQ Competition

Five teams participated in the Academic Quadrathlon during the Western Section Meeting. They included: California State University, Chico; Montana State University, New Mexico State University, Oregon State University, and Utah State University.

First place overall went to Oregon State University! Montana State University took 2nd place overall, followed by New Mexico State University in 3rd. Here is a breakdown of the results:

Written Exam winner: Montana State University

Oral Presentation winners: California State University, Chico and New Mexico State University (tied)

Lab Practicum: New Mexico State University

Quiz Bowl: Oregon State University
