The next ASAS-sponsored Snack & Fact informational briefing is at noon (EST) on Monday, October 2, in the House Agriculture Committee conference room, 1300 Longworth House Office Building, Washington D.C.
The hour-long briefing focuses on content from the April 2017 issue of Animal Frontiers, entitled “GMO Crops in Animal Nutrition.” A light lunch will be provided.
The goal of the Snack & Fact briefing is to provide information for attendees, many of whom are congressional staffers, on the use of genetically modified crops in livestock feed and the impact of feeding GM crops on the sustainability of animal agriculture in the U.S. and global food security.
Guest speakers include Dr. John Vicini, Food Safety Scientific Affairs Lead at Monsanto Company, and Dr. Kevin Folta, Professor and Chairman of the Horticultural Sciences Department at the University of Florida.
