Food security is a popular topic today, but feeding a growing world population also was a concern during the early years of JAS. Our featured JAS article, which dates back to 1910, examines "The Food Supply of the Future," by H.P. Armsby.
Dr. Armsby, who was ASAS President at the time, writes: From various sources we have heard of late warnings of a deficiency in the food supply of the future population of the United States.
He goes on to discuss population growth and that "agriculture of the future must be enormously productive" in order to feed "teeming millions."
