Sneak peek at Harlan Ritchie Symposium

The annual meeting of the Midwestern Section ASAS and Midwest Branch ADSA® will be held in Omaha, NE, on March 12-14, 2018.

The Midwest Program Committees are working to bring you exceptional symposia and scientific sessions. Details for several symposia are already available, including the topics and invited speakers for the 2018 Harlan Ritchie Symposium.

The symposium will focus on “Advancing technology in the beef industry” and includes these topics and speakers:

  1. Performance trends in the U.S. feedlot industry, by Dr. Pete Anderson of Midwest PMS
  2. Genetics of bovine respiratory disease, by Dr. Holly Neibergs, Washington State University
  3. New developments in genetic evaluation methods, by Dr. Matt Spangler, University of Nebraska-Lincoln
  4. Advances in beef reproductive technologies, by Dr. Mark Allan, Trans Ova

Funding for this symposium is made possible by the Harlan D. Ritchie Appreciation Club, which was formed to support a symposium on issues important to Beef Cattle Extension at the Midwest Meeting.
