Presenting Speaker: Dr.Theo van Kempen, Trouw Nutrition and North Carolina State University

Dr. Theo van Kempen, began his lecture by asking “Who is the vitamin expert?” He continued to explain the volatile market and the three fold increase in premix price, mostly due to the environmental turmoil around the world. Dr. van Kempen proposed that the vitamin requirement currently published in the 2012 NRC was incorrect and needed to become more relevant to today’s pigs. He finished with a detailed discussion of both Vit A and Vit E.
