The 50th Anniversary of the California Net Energy System Symposium will be held on the UC Davis campus from September 12th to September 14th, 2018.
We will celebrate the landmark introduction by Professors Lofgreen and Garrett of the California Net Energy System in 1968 and the large body of science that followed, setting the stage for improved understanding of animal energetics and metabolism for the next half century. For the symposium we anticipate over 150 attendees (see program details).
The 50th Anniversary Symposium meeting will highlight the significance of the California Net Energy System and introduce significant new research, with 31 invited speakers. The symposium will focus on the effort of combining fundamental research with applied research and practical applications. Energy nutrition, growth, and metabolism cannot be addressed separately and a better and deeper understanding can be achieved only by integrating the outcomes of scientists leading research on different aspects. We will also showcase California science and hospitality by including social events and an optional feedlot and winery tour.
