Southern Section Call for Graduate Student Representative

Dear ASAS Southern Section Members,

As another year rolls around, it’s that time again to call for nominations for the incoming Southern Section Graduate Student Representative. The Southern Section of the American Society of Animal Science encourages members of the southern region to nominate graduate students for this position. Self-nominations are also encouraged.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduate students to network with people in the society, their peers, and future colleagues. The term for this position is two years. As a Graduate Student Representative, he/she will serve on the Southern Section board and have the opportunity to take an executive role within the board.

To be eligible for this position, the graduate student must be enrolled in a graduate program at a college or university located in the Southern Section of the American Society of Animal Science and be a member of the American Society of Animal Science.

Nominations should include a short biographical sketch (approximately one page) of the candidate, a vision statement (approximately one page) from the candidate describing how he/she plans to make an impact as a Graduate Student Representative, and two letters of support. Please e-mail nominations to Sam Ingram (shingram@ncsu.edu) by November 5, 2018.

We look forward to receiving your nominations! If you have any questions about the position, please do not hesitate to contact either one of the current graduate student representatives, Sam Ingram (shingram@ncsu.edu) or Katie Mason (kmb0108@tigermail.auburn.edu)
