The American Society of Animal Science (ASAS) is both excited and saddened to announce that Ms. Jacelyn Hemmelgarn is leaving ASAS to join the Poultry Science Association (PSA). On February 4, 2019, Jacelyn will be assuming the role of Executive Director of the Poultry Science Association. Although we will miss her, we are excited for her as she moves forward with her career. This is a tremendous opportunity for Jacelyn’s professional growth and development.
Jacelyn began working at ASAS over eight years ago, as the ASAS Chief Operations Officer. Jacelyn was directly responsible for helping transition ASAS to a new staffing model, revamping the ASAS website to incorporate both modern web design and superior ease of use, helping to evaluate and implement use of multiple cutting edge user friendly web platforms and was critical in day to day section and staff management.
Jacelyn's last day in the ASAS office was Friday January 18, 2019, but she remains an ASAS employee and a resource until February 3, 2019. Congratulations can be sent to her at Jacelynh@asas.org.
