2021 Midwest ASAS Meeting Goes All Virtual!

2021 Midwest ASAS Meeting Goes All Virtual!

Dear MWASAS Section Colleagues,

As you have been made aware, the MWASAS Board of Directors made the difficult decision to hold the 2021 MWASAS Annual Meeting in a virtual format.  We believe we are right “on the bubble” in regards to hosting an in-person versus virtual meeting.  At the time of decision making, several of our member institutions were not (and still are not) allowing travel this spring, and other colleagues do not yet feel comfortable with personal travel.  In an attempt to keep our members safe, comfortable, and in order to be inclusive, we voted unanimously to conduct a virtual meeting.  As we are ALL looking forward to the time when we can gather in person and interact face-to-face with our friends and colleagues, this was a very difficult decision and was not taken lightly.

Regardless of the format, we are very excited for the 2021 MWASAS Annual Meeting which will be held March 8 through 10.  As is most important, the breadth and depth of science remains strong, and we have a number of symposia topics that are very relevant to Animal Science and our industries.  In addition, we will provide several opportunities for social interactions and virtual spaces for you to catch up with your friends and colleagues.  Please block March 8 through 10 on your calendar and plan to engage as though you were physically in Omaha.  We will do our very best to ensure this is a meaningful experience for all attendees.

I look forward to “seeing” you all at the 2021 MWASAS Annual Meeting!

Warm regards,

Clint

Clinton R. Krehbiel
MWASAS President
