ANIMAL FRONTIERS The Review Magazine of Animal Agriculture
Animal Frontiers was formed to provide general reviews on topics of Global importance to Animal Science and Animal Agriculture. As Animal Frontiers enters it’s 11 th year in 2021, the journal will undergo a number of significant changes. The two most significant changes for ASAS members are that you are now receiving printed copies of Animal Frontiers, and the journal has moved from 4 to 6 issues per year. Also in 2021, we welcomed The World Association for Animal Production (ASAS is a member of the WAAP) as a member of the organization guiding the magazine and they are responsible for an issue each year. We will also select a different Guest Society each year to provide an issue for Animal Frontiers. For this year, we welcome the Australian Association of Animal Science as the Guest Society to provide the 5th issue of the year.
Animal Frontiers began the new year by changing from email reviews to using Manuscript Central. This is the same platform used by our other journals and one we all have experience using as authors and reviewers. We anticipate this change will facilitate review and improve movement of accepted papers to journal production. As our publisher has moved to a new proof approval system, Animal frontiers is involved with the changeover to new system. As I am sure you are aware, that transition has caused some delays as everyone learns the new mechanism for approving proofs.
