An Opportunity Can Be a Beginning
Every Foundation scholarship, travel award, research award, and career recognition has a name attached to it, but more importantly, it has a person behind it.

"As an aspiring animal health sales professional with a lifelong passion for animal agriculture, I’m honored to serve as the 2026 Animal Agriculture Policy Intern. This experience will allow me to grow both personally and professionally within the industry. My background with livestock and my involvement in the Texas A&M Animal Science Department have strengthened my appreciation for the people and science that drive animal agriculture. I’m excited to deepen my understanding of policy and continue building relationships with industry professionals as I work toward a career in animal agriculture." Madison "Madi" Barbee | Animal Science | Texas A&M University | Graduated May 2026

One person. One opportunity. Changing lives for one member at a time.

ONE NUMBER

45 MEMBERS. 45 STORIES. 45 REASONS TO CELEBRATE!

In 2026, ASAS Foundation support helped students attend professional meetings, young scientists share their research, and animal scientists receive recognition for work making a difference.

Behind every scholarship, internship and award is a person - and an opportunity made possible.

45 isn’t just a number. It’s 45 members moving animal science forward!

Meet the people behind the number in the 2026 ASAS Foundation Impact Report.

ONE QUESTION

A. Travel scholarships • Member communications • Awards & recognition
B.
Student internships • ASAS publications • Symposia & lectures
C.
Awards & recognition • Travel scholarships • Membership services
D.
Student internships • Symposia & lectures • Travel scholarships
E.
All of the above

If you were tempted to choose E, you’re probably not alone.

But the answer is D!

ASAS membership provides exceptional benefits, including meeting discounts, access to journals and more. When you make a charitable gift beyond your membership fee, you become an ASAS Foundation Partner - helping create opportunities for someone else in animal science.

Because someone gave, a student attends their first ASAS meeting. A young scientist presents research, meets a mentor or makes an important connection. A symposium or lecture happens. A scientist is recognized for work that has made a difference.

These things don’t just happen. You help make them happen.
