The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that registration for the 99th annual Agricultural Outlook Forum (AOF) is now open. AOF is USDA’s largest and premier annual two-day event, being held in-person at the Crystal City Gateway Marriott on February 23-24, 2023, and all sessions will be live streamed on a virtual platform.

More than one hundred government, industry, and academic leaders will share insights on a wide array of topics including commodity and food price outlooks, U.S. and global agricultural trade developments, supply chain disruptions, and innovations to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

The following is the title of a few sessions being held at AOF:

  • U.S. Ag Trade Update

  • U.S. Farm Income and the State of the Farm Economy

  • Livestock and Poultry Outlook

  • USDA’s Action on Nutrition Security

  • Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities: Testing and Developing New Markets

The 2023 Forum will feature a keynote address by Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, a presentation on the 2023 agricultural economy by USDA’s Chief Economist Seth Meyer, a complete panel of distinguished guest speakers, and 30 breakout sessions organized by agencies across USDA and covering a range of timely issues impacting the agriculture and food sector.

Last year, the 2022, 98th edition of the AOF included robust conversations surrounding crop acres, agricultural exports, and the uncertainty around COVID-19. To get an idea of what to expect this year, read the American Farm Bureau Federation’s recap of last year’s AOF.

Participants can attend the AOF in person or virtually. Registration is required for both virtual and in-person attendance. There is no cost to attending the Forum virtually. Learn more about registration here
