Interpretive Summary: The integration of manure, soil, diet and animal management to reduce GHG emissions on farm

By: K.A. Johnson (Washington State University)

Greenhouse gas emission mitigation on farm can encompass manure, soil, diet and animal management. All of these components of farm management must be considered prior to changing one aspect to reduce emissions so reductions in one area do not contribute to increased emission in another. The attention to GHG reductions in animal production systems should result in a suite of options for producers to choose between to enhance the sustainability of food production.
