IMPACT: Undergraduate and Graduate Students
"Being selected as the 2025 ASAS Foundation's Animal Agriculture D.C. Policy Intern is a tremendous honor as I have always been fascinated by the intersection of agriculture and policy. Being in our nation's capital, advocating for agriculture, and observing the legislative process firsthand will be an invaluable experience to me. I am eager to further contribute to agriculture and grow through this incredible opportunity." Paisli Ivey | Ph.D. student | University of Georgia, beginning fall 2025

Honoring a Legacy, Advancing a Field
The George Fahey Appreciation Fund celebrates Dr. Fahey’s remarkable contributions to companion animal science, comparative animal nutrition, and his lasting impact on the American Society of Animal Science.
This fund plays a vital role in sustaining the excellence of the companion animal program at the ASAS Annual Meeting, making graduate student competitions possible - a pivotal experience where students showcase their expertise, receive valuable feedback from experts, and build confidence as future leaders in animal science.
These moments are more than just competitions; they’re launching pads for careers, connections, and lifelong impact!

IMPACT: Professional Members
"I’ve been working on minerals since my undergraduate studies, and I’m just as passionate about them today. Receiving the Gary L. Cromwell Award for Mineral Nutrition is both an honor and a great source of motivation for the future. Although minerals have been studied for centuries, there is still so much to learn. I’m particularly interested in the many interactions minerals can have with other dietary components, such as phytate. I also find cross-species comparisons especially fascinating, as they can provide deeper insights into mineral metabolism." Marie-Pierre Létourneau-Montminy, Ph.D. | Professor | Department of Animal Sciences | Laval University______________________________________________________________________________________________
"It is an honour to receive the 2025 Bentley Lectureship from the Midwest Section of ASAS. My work focuses on industrial microbiology and waste valorization, and this recognition highlights the broader impact of microbial-derived products, like medium-chain fatty acids, in supporting animal health and sustainable agriculture. I am grateful for the opportunity to share this perspective with the animal science community.” Christopher Lawson, Ph.D. | Assistant Professor | Department of Chemical Engineering & Applied Chemistry | University of Toronto

I am grateful for all the team members of the past and present and many collaborators and mentors who supported me in this journey." Laxmi Yeruva, Ph.D. | Research Leader | Microbiome and Metabolism Research Unit | Arkansas Children's Nutrition Center | USDA

What a Week! Thank You for Fueling the Future.
As ASAS Foundation Week comes to a close, our hearts are full of gratitude. This week was a celebration of everything we strive for - the power of community, the impact of generosity, and the future we’re building together.
Yesterday, we hosted One Day for ASAS, which was an amazing reminder that we’ve been where today’s students are going. And because of you, they won’t walk that path alone. Your support is already opening doors - supporting travel scholarships, empowering innovation, and inspiring dreams.
If you didn’t have a chance to give yesterday, there’s still time. Every gift, big or small, is a ripple of hope that helps shape the next generation of animals. Please consider still making a gift today, online here.
Thank you for believing in their future and honoring the legacy of our past.
