Andrea Sexton, Joseph P. Fontenot Appreciation Club Graduate Student Travel Scholarship

Andrea Sexton is presenting the following abstracts:

  • "Genetic mechanism underlying the effect of breed on fatty acid composition in Angus and Charolais finishing steers"  
  • "A region on BTA6 is associated with feed intake and gain in beef cattle."

Sexton earned two BS degrees and a MS degree in ruminant nutrition from the University of Kentucky. She is currently a PhD candidate in ruminant nutrition at Oklahoma State University.

Sexton will graduate this summer and pursue a research and teaching position at a land-grant university.
