Kenneth G. Odde, ASAS Fellow: Administration Category

Dr. Ken Odde is a native of South Dakota. After completing his BS at South Dakota State University, he served as an officer and platoon leader in the U.S. Army before obtaining a MS, and simultaneous completing DVM and PhD degrees at Kansas State University. After 11 years in extension, research, and teaching at Colorado State University and 10 years with Pfizer and AgSpan, he became head of the Department of Animal and Range Science at North Dakota State University. Currently, Odde is head of the Department of Animal Sciences and Industry at Kansas State University, where he has led the department to growth in student and faculty numbers, research productivity, and facility improvements. Odde is a founding member of the National Association for the Advancement of Animal Science and has served as Trustee for the ASAS Foundation, President of the Western Section of ASAS and on numerous association committees. Ken and his wife, Arlene, maintain active roles in their ranch in South Dakota.
