Dr. Lonergan has made significant contributions to students in the formal classroom as well as the practical world classroom. His leadership has resulted in first of a kind curriculum in meat science, industry experiences for ISU students and opportunities for ISU students to expand into global food policy studies. All of these efforts strengthen nation-leading programs in animal and food sciences. Steven Lonergan has worked hard to create opportunities for students to advance their careers through experiences that show science in action. While the academic foundation is absolutely critical, internships and study abroad opportunities create a stimulus to develop active, engaged, life-long learners. Steven has achieved this through his efforts as an instructor, an adviser, a researcher, a mentor, and through his service to his international professional societies.
