Fund Detail

Honoring a Legacy. Supporting Future Leaders. Former students, faculty, alumni, and friends are joining together to raise funds for the Jerry J. Reeves ASAS Appreciation Club.

Dr. Jerry J. Reeves dedicated his career (1970–2007, Washington State University) to mentoring students and advancing animal science. He guided 5 postdoctoral fellows, 22 Ph.D. students, and 35 M.S. students from across the globe, many of whom went on to distinguished careers in academia, government, and industry.

Jerry’s groundbreaking work in reproductive neuroendocrinology, genetic engineering, and livestock production transformed the field and continues to influence science and agriculture today.

Now, you can help honor his remarkable impact by supporting the Jerry J. Reeves Appreciation Club.

About the Fund

  • Purpose: Provide graduate student travel scholarships to attend ASAS meetings - reflecting Jerry’s lifelong passion for student development.
  • Early Commitment Goal: Raise $25,000 in pledges by December 31, 2025, before the fund is publicly launched.
  • Future Goal: Grow to $50,000+ to establish a permanent endowed fund.
  • Assurance: If $25,000 is not reached, all contributions will still support student travel in Jerry’s name until funds are fully spent.
