Beef Symposium

WASAS Beef Symposium: Advancing Virtual Fence Technology in Livestock Production.
The WASAS Beef Symposium on Virtual Fence Technology will bring together virtual fencing companies, livestock producers, researchers, and extension professionals to explore the current state and future potential of this emerging precision-livestock tool. The symposium will feature perspectives from technology developers, researchers, and producers, highlighting recent research findings, practical experiences, and key considerations for successful implementation across diverse production systems. A central component of the symposium will be opportunities to visit sites that are pioneering the use of virtual fencing technology. These site visits will allow participants to observe systems in operation, engage directly with producers and researchers, and discuss real-world challenges, successes, and lessons learned. By fostering dialogue and collaboration among industry, academia, and producers, this symposium aims to accelerate knowledge exchange, inform adoption decisions, and identify future research and extension needs related to virtual fencing in livestock systems.
