Blake Wilson, Young Animal Scientist Award

Dr. Blake Wilson received his Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University in 2014 and has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at Oklahoma State University since 2015. Before serving in his current position, he worked as the Research Coordinator for the Willard Sparks Beef Research Center and as a Lecturer for the Department. Dr. Wilson has taught Applied Animal Nutrition to over 950 undergraduates, co-teaches Stocker and Feedlot Cattle Management, and advises many students and multiple student organizations within the Department and College. Dr. Wilson’s research focuses on both fundamental and applied aspects of beef cattle nutrition, management, and health. Dr. Wilson has secured in excess of $2.2 million in extramural funding as a PI and Co-PI. In addition, he has published 11 peer-reviewed journal articles, 53 refereed abstracts, and one book chapter.
